Imagine this: a world where road accidents are reduced because of a simple app on your phone. That's the vision behind my Driver Monitoring System (DMS), a project I showcased at the HackFrost Hackathon, 2024. DMS is a basic smartphone web-app that utilizes the power of trained models to monitor driver alertness in real-time. By analyzing facial features through the phone's front camera, DMS can detect signs of fatigue, distraction, or drowsiness. When it senses a potential hazard, it triggers an immediate alert, urging the driver to refocus. This innovative solution is built on a foundation of HTML, JavaScript, and cutting-edge libraries like Mediapipe ( https://github.com/google-ai-edge/mediapipe ) and TensorFlow.js ( https://github.com/tensorflow/tfjs ). While this is a basic prototype, it's a testament to the potential of technology to revolutionize road safety.
